According to Symantec’s 2011 Internet Security Threat Report, the sheer number of attacks has soared 81% since 2010, reaching 5.5 billion. Malware, in particular, is a major source of concern. Malware authors have shifted tactics, away from mass distribution of a single strain that hits millions of PCs, to a micro distribution model where far more unique variants are created. To combat this problem and help organizations cope with a constantly changing and ever-complex threat landscape, Symantec will release Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 later this year. This solution is built on an eco-system of security technologies, including new behavioral and reputation-based protection. Sybiz Vision Business Intelligence Centre
Copying, Pasting and Renaming Reports
You can copy and paste a report at any stage in the Report Manager. These functions are useful in Sybiz Vision Business Intelligence Reporting because all the Master reports are locked and you need to make a copy of these master reports. Use the copy, paste and renaming methods to create new reports from an existing report so you do not corrupt the master report.
To create a new report from an existing report:
1. Launch Sybiz vision BIC Report Manager.
2. Right-click on the report you want to make a copy of, for example, Sales Analysis.
3. To copy that report to the clipboard select Copy or click on the Copy icon in the menu bar.
4. Select a folder. You can choose the same folder that contains the original report or a different folder.
5. Right-click on the selected folder then select Paste.
6. Rename the newly copied report. By default, the name of the report is ‘Copy of <report name>’.
Note: You can use short-cut keys (Ctrl+C to copy the report and Ctrl+V to paste) instead of using the menus. Right-click on the report then choose Rename to give the report a different name. You now have an exact duplicate of the original report that will obtain its data from the same place, and deliver it in the same format, until you make any changes to this new report.
Employment Termination Payments (ETP) 2012-2013
Legislation was passed late in June 2012 that requires additional information to be provided for ETPs from 1 July 2012. As a result, the printed ETP format has changed for the 2012-2013 financial year. Software changes to accommodate these requirements have not yet been completed due to the very late notification by the Australian Tax Office.
For now, ETPs for the current financial year should be processed in Sybiz Visipay in the same manner as last year but the employee should not be given the printed ETP created by Sybiz Visipay. Instead, employers should obtain the relevant forms from the ATO and complete them by hand.
We will advise further on this topic as the year progresses. We will take into account usability and ease of transition factors in an effort to make the changes as seamless as possible. Please note that there will be no changes made to Sybiz Visipay 9.60 or lower. To make sure you are up to date with requirements resulting from changes to legislation you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Sybiz Visipay.
Sybiz CustomerCentral has met its maker
Oh that sounds sad. But it’s actually GOOD!
Sybiz CustomerCentral began as an area on our website that only SybizCover Plus customers could access. It’s been over 10 years since SybizCover Plus was released so now we’re making the information on CustomerCentral available to everyone!
Our new release information is now uploaded directly to our website under ‘Existing Customers’ (the 2012 page will be up soon), and all of our videos are available on our YouTube channel. Past and present editions of SybizFlash can be read on the website too (check them out here). Enjoy!
